Me and Irene kind of “met” on Instagram. I was on the explore page when I saw a picture of one of her stuning creations. I quickly gave it a like and checked her full profile. *loving every single bit of it* Of course I followed her! To be honest it kind of inspired me… And basically this why I wanted to interview her. I love her work and instagram, sounds like a good reason doesn’t it? Since that I am an aspiring designer and sooner or later I’ll need to choose my college degree. I know that the life of a jewelry designer isn’t as easy as it sounds, so I needed more information. And here I am sharing it! Being a jewelry designer isn’t that easy, you need a lot of creativity, and that is why I’ve always admired this job and the people that practice it.
(This is Irene btw)
Not only she designs elegant pieces of jewelry, but she is also a big supporter of ALS research. A portion of ALL sales go to help support ALS research. She is working with “ProjectALS” and together move forward in finding and funding a cure for this horrible disease. The wing rings (picture below) were actually designed to represent wings to fly for those who have lost their mobility due to this disease. If you want to donate you can do it through your purchase or donate directly to www.projectals.org.
Now lets hear what she has to say about the life of a jewelry designer:
- How do you get inspired and what drives you to do this?
- What do you do in a typical work day?
- How would you characterize the brand’s style?
- What do you think is the most important characteristic a jewelry designer?
